The service will start at 9:30 am. Don graduated from San Jacinto High School in 1956, where he lettered in baseball, basketball, football and track. He set a CIF short hurdle record for his school during his track career. He joined the US Air Force after graduation and served honorably and successfully for 27 years. Don loved to travel and did so extensively throughout his Air Force career and his retirement. He married his high school sweetheart, Sue, a few years after joining the military and they enjoyed many adventures together. For their 50th wedding anniversary they took a Mexican Riviera week-long cruise with the entire family. He was a son, husband, father, master sergeant, coach, opa and friend to so many people. "The moment that you left me, my heart was split in two, one side was filled with memories and the other side died with you. I often lay awake at night when the world is fast asleep, and I take a walk down memory lane with tears upon my cheek. Remembering you is easy, I do it every day, but missing you is a heartache that never goes away. I hold you tightly within my heart and there you will remain; you see life has gone on without you but it will never be the same." Author unknown but it expresses what his sweetheart Sue is feeling. After the service, we will be gathering at his residence in Moreno Valley. There are no participation limits at the cemetery so please come if you are able. Masks will not be required at the outdoor service but you may wear one if you want.
