Marilyn Patricia Seveland
January 14, 1933 - April 1, 2022
Marilyn Seveland passed away on April 1, 2022 from complications of vascular dementia. She was born January 14, 1933 in Orofino, ID, and grew up in Weippe and Lewiston, ID. After her marriage to Ed Seveland in 1954, the family also lived in Spokane and Kennewick WA and Indio, CA before moving to Hemet in 1970. She worked in banking all her life, including Crocker/Wells Fargo Bank, Guardian Savings and Provident Bank in Hemet. Marilyn loved country music, Willie Nelson, concerts and plays, line dancing, depression glass, Bingo, attending the kids’ activities, Christmas, and Wheel of Fortune. Most of all she loved her family, including her “bank girls” - a group that continued to celebrate birthdays and holidays long after retirement. You would never know a sweeter person than Marilyn. She had a way of making every celebration special with her thoughtfulness and planning. She could find joy in the little things, and her positive outlook brightened the lives of those around her. Preceding Marilyn in death were her husband of 45 years, Ed Seveland, her sister Doris Iverson, and her son John Seveland. She is survived by children Michael Reece (Dianna) of Waitsburg, WA and Paula McDowell (Pat) of Hemet; her grandchildren Ashley Reece, Kevin McDowell, Tracy Ray, and Jody Koontz; and ten great-grandchildren. We all loved her so much, and will miss her sweet smile. A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 29, 2022 at Miller Jones Mortuary in Hemet, followed by a reception at the McDowell home.
