Margie Ree Watts

Margie Ree Watts passed in peace on January 26, 2022 at the age of 85 years old. Margie was born and raised in Minden, Louisiana on July 27, 1936 to Johnny Jones and Annie Lee Jones. Once she turned 19, she began her journey and moved to Los Angeles, California. It was there she met John Shelby Watts. They dated for six months before they married. Margie and John were married for 63 years and had eight children. After raising her kids, she later went to college and became a nurse. Margie enjoyed taking care of people. She spent 25 years working at Los Angeles General Hospital. She later retired, but continued to keep busy. She attended church every Sunday and went to bible study. She also helped her friend Earldene take care of her sister Mary. Margie would help in any way she could. She enjoyed helping people. Margie and John had 8 children who they loved dearly. Starting with the oldest to the youngest: John Shelby Watts Jr, Melissa Davis, Beverly Watts, Ernestina Watts, Yolonda Watts (predeceased), Christopher Watts, Patrick Watts, Latanya Watts Chukwuka. They also have a host of grandkids and great grandkids who they love dearly. Margie has 8 siblings. She was the second oldest of 9 children: Atava Linsey, Bertha Lee Howard, Marvin Jones, Catherine Jones, Henry lee Jones, Willie Lee Jones, Dezzie Ree Jackson, Dessie Rene Oliver, and a host of cousins and friends. Margie had a special friend who she knew for over 50 years. Her name is Earldene Peebles and she became family to us.
