    Manuel Miranda Jr.

    September 10, 1951 - August 9, 2021

Manuel Miranda Jr is a loved Son, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Brother, Godfather, Uncle, Cousin, Nephew, and Friend. Manuel was a simple hardworking man who loved his family, music, and sports. He would learn to play the drums. Manuel was part of the Roosevelt High School Marching Band and a backup drummer for The Midnighters and Cannibal and the Headhunters while playing garage parties. He would show off his patented move which we call the “Pants Drop and Stomp”. He was super excited about his dance trophy he won from the La Miranda Swap Meet. Whenever his kids would tell him he could not dance, he would break out the trophy to prove he was the best. It was not uncommon for him to go on stage and sing with the act during their set at the swap meet, sing karaoke at various spots, sing along to the music at home and he even sang with no music because Alcapolcos did not have the song on his list. Manuel was a big sports fan. He loved the Dodgers, Lakers, Raiders and the UCLA Bruins. Manuel enjoyed going to the Dodger Stadium his entire life. He would go to the game on his bicycle in his younger days. Manuel would go to the Dodger games with his family and friends. He would listen to Vince Scully and Chick Hearns while watching the Lakers and Dodgers. He would become a little league manager, coaching and teaching his son the love he had for baseball. The entire family would unite constantly at Granada Park to play baseball with each other. Manuel enjoyed going to the La Miranda Swap Meet, Santa Fe Dam, Puddingstone, or one of many local bars in which he was well known and received. Our Dad and Grandpa without a doubt loved each and every single one of us and would tell everyone how proud he was of us. He was not afraid to show it or tell us that he loved us.
