Francisco Javier Castorena

Francisco Javier Castorena, known as Javier to everyone, passed away at the age of 73, on Monday, January 17, 2022, in Hemet, California. He was born on Saturday, July 16, 1948, in Zacatecas, Mexico, to Roberto Castorena and Maria Eduarda (Pinedo) Castorena. Javier was blessed with 48 years of marriage to the love of his life, his best friend, Maria Elma Salazar de Castorena. They were blessed with three children that would later make him a grandfather as well. As a young boy, he enjoyed helping his father with the farmlands, the care of live stock, and gardening. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching his favorite baseball team the "Dodgers." Javier was a hardworking, strong, and a truly unforgettable man who served as a pillar of strength for others. His love for his family was beyond measure and he will forever be loved and missed. Javier leaves behind his devoted wife, M. Elma Salazar de Castorena; his loving children, Javier Castorena, Yvette Castorena, and Maritza (Luis) Castorena; his caring grandchildren, Luis Javier Macias, Izaiah Macias and Nathan Macias; his siblings, Raquel Cadiz, Bertha Aceves, Cecilia Castorena, Leticia Castorena, Roberto Castorena, Ysidro Castorena, Eduardo Castorena, Enrique Castorena, and Maria Castorena. He was preceded in death by his sister, Esperanza Bedoy. The family will receive guests, for a visitation, from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM, on Thursday, February 10, 2022, at Miller-Jones Mortuary, 1501 W. Florida Ave, Hemet. A funeral mass is scheduled for Friday, February 11, 2022, at 11:00 AM, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, located at 630 S. Santa Fe Street, San Jacinto.
