Eric Scott Slater passed away at the age of 60, on Friday, January 7, 2022, in Loma Linda, California. He was born on Thursday, June 22, 1961, in Hawthorne, California , to Ralph Edward Slater and Maxine Mary (Angermeier) Slater. Eric's love story began 26 years ago when he met the love of his life and best friend, Penny Slater, in Hemet, California. He was a customer at a camera store where Penny worked. They have been blessed with 25 wonderful years of marriage. Eric was an amazing husband and dedicated father and grandfather who was very proud of his family and loved them dearly. They were blessed with five children that later would make him a grandfather. In his spare time, Eric enjoyed riding motorcycles, going to the shooting range, and trips to Havasu River. Eric leaves behind his devoted wife and best friend, Penny Slater; his father, Ralph Slater; his children, Jamie Dean, Michael Welty, Emerson Slater, Erika Vaughn, and Emily Bell; and his grandchildren, Arielle, Starr, Daisy, Ivee, Eli, Liam, Izik, and Eric. He was preceded in death by his mother, Maxine Mary Angermeier; and his granddaughter, Pearl. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2022, at 12:30 PM, at Calvary Chapel, located on 26121 Hemet St, Hemet 92544.
