David Lee King He was born in Eagle Pass, Maverick County Texas on July 16, 1932. His father-John King, (from Scotland) and mother Clara Constance Etter, (from Texas). He was their third child. The street he was born on, later changed to King David Street. When he checked, the street out with the city, they said it was named after royalty. (So the officials say) When he had finished the 11th grade of High School, his mother moved to Bedford Indiana due to, she wanted to be near her daughter as David’s father passed away when he was in 11th grade. He attended Mitchell High School in Mitchell Indiana and graduated there. Right after he graduated, he in-listed in the U.S. Air Force. After completing basic training, he was sent to Cal Aero Tech ( aircraft school in Glendale California) for 9 months of schooling. While stationed at Cal Aero, he met the love of his life Vonnie Lee Harrison. He had to attend a 8 week school in Illinois and after that, he returned to Glendale Ca. then they were married July 16,1952 in Burbank Ca. His next assignment was Strategic Air Command in Rapid City South Dakota. They were just settling in, when he got orders to go to Puerto Rico for 15 months. When his tour of duty was up, he was assigned to Maxwell AF base in Montgomery Alabama. They just got settled in, when he had to go overseas again for a couple months. It was hard on the family to be in the Strategic Air command. He then decided, his time was up in USAF to be discharged. They moved to Ontario California where he got a job with Lockheed air craft as a service performing. The performing the same job he had in the Air Force. Lockheed laid off employees when the contract ended. He then hired in at the So.Calif. Gas Co. in 1957. He was promoted to management in the 60’s and held various jobs. Then was promoted and served as Customer service supervisor in several areas-San Fernando, Pomona, Visalia, Lake Arrowhead Palm Springs, and opened a new base called Ramona in Romoland, Ca Due to his eyesight etc., he decided on Early retirement. Vonnie and David then worked weekends managing a Mini storage co 1 in Lake Elsinore and 1 in Menifee. He then was elected as a Board of director at Nuevo water Co. He and his family travel to various places over the years on vacation which cover the whole US, Canada and Mexico. David and Vonnie had 4 children, David Lee Jr (who passed away 2014),Tammie Lee Mund, Baby King which was stillborn and Richard Lee.
