Bertha Mae Walker was born Friday, January 17, 1941 in Deberry, Texas to Andy and Tobie Stanifer. Bertha passed on to Glory on Tuesday, November 30, 2021. Her parents, son Jerome, brother Charles and A.C., and sister Mildred preceded her in death. Bertha’s family moved to Kansas City, Kansas when she was 5 years old where she attended public school graduating from Sumner High School. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of the St. Peter CME Church. She was employed at the Wyandotte County Courthouse and Youth Craft Coat Factory. On December 8, 1958, her pride and joy, Jerome was born. He was the love of her life. They moved to Los Angeles, California in 1965 where they made their home. On May 10, 1968 Bertha married Tommie Walker which was later dissolved. Bertha was employed with Bank of America until she retired. She was a very positive and caring person. She did not attend church on a regular basis, but had a strong relationship with God. Her faith and trust in God never waivered, even through her sicknesses, trials and tribulations. We will truly miss her. She leaves to cherish her memory her soulmate, Jesse Parker; 2 sisters Omie Brown of Kansas City, Kansas and Barbara Brown of Minneapolis, Minnesota; 1 brother Wilson Stanifer of Minneapolis, Minnesota; 2 special nephews Roydale and Rydell Tramel of Moreno Valley, California, a special niece, Margaret Pender of Kansas City, Kansas, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
