Barbara R. Grell

December 13, 1938 - January 18, 2022

Barbara Grell passed away at the age of 83, on January 18, 2022, at her home in Hemet, California surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 13, 1938 in Schweidnitz, Germany. She emigrated to the United States in 1956 and resided in New York where she married and raised three daughters. She moved to Hemet, CA in 1988. Barbara was a loving sister, mother and Oma. She was instantly loved by everyone she met because of her gregarious personality. She enjoyed her monthly retreats to the casinos to play the slots and Bingo with her sister and daughter, courtesy of her son-in-law, Robert Cardenas. She also enjoyed knitting and crocheting for her grandkids. She brought laughter and fun to any occasion, she will be deeply missed. Barbara is survived by her sister, Lori Hardin (Hemet, CA) and brother Dieter Hoffmann (Kassel, Germany) and predeceased brother, Horst Hoffmann (Kassel, Germany); her daughters, Regina Cardenas, Veronica Grell and Lisa Sawtell; her grandchildren, Joseph Frank, Kyle Frank, Reina Cardenas-Howell and Austin Weagle and nieces and nephews both in America and Germany. The family will conduct a private service at a later date. A donation can be made to Barbara’s favorite charity, St. Jude Children's Hospital.
