Miller-Jones Mortuary is always looking for individuals interested in our apprentice embalming program that are passionate about the funeral profession and learning all aspects including Embalming and preparation of the deceasd. This is a full time position starting at $10.00 per hour. Openings become available periodically. Duties include : care of the deceased, embalming, dressing/cosmitizing, assisting with funeral services, and community involvement. Requirements: Must be 18 years of age or older, must have a high school diploma or a GED, and an excellent driving record. We have both PT and FT Receptionist positions at Miller-Jones that become available from time to time. Regardless of the schedule, our Receptionists are a key position and handle many of the day to day activities that are necessary to the successful operation of the funeral home. These individuals are the first ones of families come in contact with when they call or arrive at our facilities. Service Directors (Funeral Attendants)
Our Service Directors provide professional services in receiving families, transporting them to services, cemeteries or elsewhere as instructed, in comfort and complete empathy for their feelings. This position assured that families’ satisfaction is of paramount consideration. This is a part-time, as needed position addressing the needs and comforts of the family during chapel and church services, visitations and graveside services, as well as providing any assistance identified by the funeral arranger. REQUIREMENTS: Must be experienced with strong customer service skills and a proven service oriented track record. We desire candidates to be over 21 years of age.
